The car parking at the Kirkintilloch Health & Social Care Centre has provided a number of challenges over the years since the building was established in 2009. We have been informed that this will be changing in January 2020.
The aim of this is to give priority to those who require to access the building for health and social care reasons, or to staff who require to deliver a service within the community. There will be three specific zoned car park areas:-
- For Service Users and Visitors – This area will be directly opposite the main entrance of the building.
- For staff – This area will be near the main road.
- Pooled cars will be parked at the back of the premises.
A car park barrier system will be installed to access all these areas. For Service Users and Visitors, the barrier will lift up when entering the front car park. A number code will be required from main reception at KHCC to lift the barrier to exit the car park.
For deliveries, taxies and couriers, there will be an intercom system on the barrier so that the receptionist can allow them access to the car park.
Bollards will also be installed to prevent parking on double yellow lines, parking on pavements and parking on grass verges.
Contractors plan to begin to do these modifications and changes to the car park from the 13th January 2020. This work is expected to take about eight weeks.
For a short time during this period, there will be less disabled parking spaces available.
Thank you for your patience while this work is being done and please remember additional parking is also available at the Leisure Centre.
