Booking an Appointment
Due to changes in response to the Pandemic, all requests to see a GP are initially assessed by telephone as per current Scottish Government Guidance.
Patients who have already registered with the practice can make an appointment at Woodhead Medical Practice or at the Twechar Healthy Living Centre by calling our reception. Please click here to view our telephone numbers. If you have not yet registered with the practice please visit our page about how to register with the practice. Please note that the Twechar surgery has been suspended during the Pandemic in line with Scottish Government Guidelines.
On-line booking of appointments has been suspended during the Pandemic.
It is now also possible to book routine appointments online. To use this service you will first need to register to access our online services. Please come to the surgery at your convenience to collect a Patient Access Registration Form which will allow you to sign up for this system. If you have already completed and returned a form please visit our Online Services page to book an appointment.
Arriving at your Appointment
Limited parking is available at the surgery and you should plan to arrive in good time to allow for the possibility of having to park off site. Additional parking can be found at the nearby Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre.
We have dedicated parking bays for our disabled patients at the sideof the surgery. We politely ask that this is not used by able bodied patients as a dropping off point.
Self check in is not currently in use due to the Pandemic. Please inform reception staff that you have arrived for your appointment.
We have a Self Check-in facility at Woodhead Medical Practice. This allows you to register your arrival for your appointment without having to waiting at reception to be checked in by staff.
When arriving at the practice you will see the Self Check-In screen at reception. Simply enter your date of birth and confirm your appointment type on the screen. Please note if you are any more than 10 minutes late for your appointment you will need to report to reception. If you are attending for an “urgent” appointment you will also need to report to reception.
Regrettably, if you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, we may have to ask you to re-book.
